Liberals Like Christ
1) We don't want your Money.
( There's no good cause that an abundance of money can't corrupt.)
2) If you have wealth to share, then we recommend, as Jesus did, that you share it with the needy, not with us.

      From 1996 when we launched this site, we took the idealistic position displayed in the window at your right, that unselfishness would be rewarded with appreciation, good will and donated services.
      Although we have had considerable success, considering the fact that we have never been able to spend a cent on advertizing and have only received a little over $100 in unsollicited donations in all those years. But that approach may have been a huge mistake. Maybe we could have done much more, if we had invited and accepted donations and had spent money on advertizing and the like. So, as of 02 / 19 / 08 we will be accepting donations. We are not tax-exempt because we want to advocate for public servants who represent the liberal policies of Jesus of Nazareth. Until we get a www account, donations will need to be made in person or by check mailed to :

3) Since we never have much money, however, our voice will not be heard without your voice.

    What is it we are trying to say ?
  1. Liberals Like Christ are trying to give a voice to all those who are unjustly oppressed, exploited or persecuted, especially if their plight is not getting the attention that it deserves.
  2. Liberals Like Christ are trying to remind Judeo/Christian followers that God doesn't want them to pass by their suffering brothers and sisters on their way to their churches and synagogues. He/She wants them to fight on behalf of the needy, even if the churchy friends of their rich oppressors and exploiters call such "do-gooders" liberals, socialists or even communists, because they know so little about the Bible that they can't recognize its teaching!
  3. Liberals Like Christ are trying to rescue the name and honor of Christ from the disgrace and shame that is being brought upon it when it is made a tool of the rich and the powerful for misleading innocent sheep into actually helping in their efforts to exploit the poor and hold down the oppressed, by supporting their Republican Party.
  4. Liberals Like Christ are taking on the multi-millionaires behind the "Christian Coalition", and hoping that God Almighty will use the keyboards and the voices of friends of the poor and the oppressed to defeat the power and the might of the friends of the high and the mighty.
4) If you do nothing but add your name to the L.L.C. membership list, you are encouraging others to consider joining. (See the amazing chart below.) 5) The only way L.L.C. can make a real difference in the world, however, is for some members to do more, like :
  1. recommending to as many people as possible that they visit and bookmark Liberals Like Christ. Check out this List of Specific L.L.C. Pages.  We highly recommend that you print out this page and keep it handy so that you can recommend the page that best suits particular situations when you are online.  They have been set up in such a way that when people are sent to them, they start at a place that fits the moment, but also see a menu down the side of the page for the rest of Liberals Like Christ.
  2. encouraging other sites to link to Liberals Like Christ,
  3. putting notices about L.L.C. in newsletters, and
  4. talking or writing to friends about it. (See the "wallet card" below.)

      Can you believe that in less than one month, one million new people could be exposed to L.L.C., if only each person exposed to the site would invite at least two other new people to L.L.C. within one day?   See for yourself on the right :
      If this is too much to expect, let's give everybody a week to invite two people to meet this challenge.  Then it would take 20 weeks, or five months, to reach a million people.  Even at that rate, however, in just 10 more weeks, more than one billion people would be exposed to "Liberals Like Christ" !
      Obviously, persuading people to become dedicated and activist members of "Liberals Like Christ" is a lot harder than just persuading them to visit the site.  But, when people start hearing about L.L.C. from many sources, instead of a very few, they are going to become more and more curious about us and more open to the idea of becoming dedicated Liberals Like Christ themselves.

        The real success of Liberals Like Christ, however, will be "Good Samaritan" activities that people are moved by this site to engage in on behalf of the needy.  We hope that people will eventually be telling us about such actions, so that we can publicize them on this site to encourage others to follow the Jesus' instruction to  "Go and do likewise."

          P.S.   We have very modest means, and will not be able to continue indefinitely without some financial help.  We won't ask for it, but won't refuse such help, if and when we need it.  We will publish all gift amounts (not donors), and automatically donate any excess cash flow to organizations like "Doctors Without Borders", (unless donors designate some other beneficiary).

        "Christian Conservatives", who don't understand the incompatibility that Jesus insisted exists between the love of God and the love of money, can't imagine Liberals Like Christ being in existence for any other reason than Christian Conservative ministries are "in business" for, namely "holy avarice".  Unlike their Conservative heroes, who are supported enthusiasticly by the wealthy because they in turn support the wealthy enthusiasticly, Liberals Like Christ has received almost nothing in donations since its founding in 1997.

"Wallet card" available :
    When talking with people, it's great to be able to recommend great web sites to them, but even better to be able to open your wallet and give them a card to enable them to easily find those sites when they get back to their computers.  That's why I've created the card pictured imperfectly below, which I'll send you in whatever quantity you like for any donation that at least covers postage & printing.
